The dates for the Bath Coffee Festival 2011 at the city’s Recreation Ground have been announced as Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May. Following an extremely successful inaugural Festival in 2010 which attracted over 7,350 visitors, organisers are expecting in excess of 10,000 people over the two days for the 2011 event.
Coffee fans are being promised the tried and tested format of tastings, demonstrations, expert-led workshops and an array of family entertainment. In response to demand, organisers are expanding the exhibition area and are planning new elements of fun and education for visitors.
Festival organiser Linda Donaldson said: “The first Bath Coffee Festival exceeded all expectations, with strong visitor numbers and very good feedback from exhibitors. There was therefore never any doubt that we wouldn’t be bringing the Festival back in 2011. We have had a significant number of exhibitors and sponsors from May re-booking for 2011 and are talking to leading names from the world of coffee in supporting the new elements.
“The city of Bath and Bath Rugby’s Recreation Ground specifically was the perfect setting for the UK’s first coffee festival, so we are therefore pleased to be returning. We look forward to welcoming even more coffee fans in 2011 who want to find out more about what is arguably the world’s most popular drink. For exhibitors and sponsors, this well targeted audience provides a unique marketing opportunity for exhibitors to showcase, sample and sell their products and services.”
The Bath Coffee Festival 2010 featured big name coffee companies including Taylors of Harrogate, Martin Carwardine & Co, illy caffé, Whittard of Chelsea, Lavazza, plus an array of local producers. Cravendale kept exhibitors stocked with milk over the weekend. Alongside Taylors of Harrogate, Malmesbury Syrups and the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe were headline sponsors.
